As announced a few days ago, we have been postponing the start of the UL6 in order to find a more entertaining proposal for the D1-D2. Here is what came out of it. First of all, the playoff system we introduced for UL5 is gone. Secondly, there will be no modification for D3 and lower.
The new organisation for the UL6 will be based on two phases:

First phase: Ranking groups A, B, C, D
- 4 divisions of 4 teams will be created, with current D1 and D2 teams
- draw will not be random: in each division, you will have have 1 UL5 playoff team (CMC, Reven, LSD, TEP), 1 team being close to the playoff teams (ScrewD, TNT, LM, XY) and 2 weaker teams (UMF, halko, oQ, RM, dacsp, sek, GSN, SFO).
- Teams will play each other in each of the group over 3 rounds, and on 3 maps.
- The maps will be selected with the following procedure: Team A picks one enviro, Team B pick the second enviro, Team B eliminates one enviro, Team A eliminates one enviro, Team B eliminates one enviros, Team A choose the third enviro amongst the two remaining. All in all, for each of the 3 matchs, teams will have to play on: their strongest enviro, the strongest enviro of their opponent, a third enviro which will depend on the maps which are going to be eliminated by both teams.
-For the first match, maps will be selected in the first 7 maps of the map pack, for the second match, maps will be selected in the next 7 maps of the map pack, for the third match, mals will be selected in the last 7 maps of the map pack.
-Considering the choices which need to be made, map selection should be done by Thursday evening, in order to allow 6 days of training on the maps selected. If a team is slowing down the process (does not react on the match page to the request of the map selection), the team not answering will only be able to pick one map, while the opponent will pick two. So it is in your best interest to announce as quickly as possible which map you select or eliminates, since you’ll have only 24 hours after the previous round game to do so. Of course, we encourage team to make arrangements by msn, irc, or even in advance, we hope we will never have to get down to this.
-After the three rounds of playing against each other in the ranking phase, we will proceed to the final groups.
-The tranfer window will be open between the Ranking and the Final phase, with the limitations set in the rules. Meaning it won’t be possible for D1-D2 teams to transfer drivers between them, but only to add new players to the game.

First phase: Final Groups
- 4 divisions of 4 teams will be created, according to the final standings in the 4 Ranking groups.
- The 4 winners of the each ranking group will be put in the Champion League. Teams will play against each other on 7 maps, each game will have a 2 weeks window to be played. There will be no bonus points, and we will only enter the number of maps won or lost, so scores going from 7-0 to 0-7. The winner of the Champion League will be... the UL6 champion.
-The first match will be played on the first 7 maps of the map pack, the second match will be played on next group of 7 maps of the map pack, the third match, maps will be played in the last group of 7 maps of the map pack.
- Teams who finished second will go to the D1A, Teams who finished third in the ranking groups will go to the D1B, Teams who finished last will go to the Relegation League. All games will be played in 7 maps, without bonus points.

Advantages of the new system
1) Ranking group map selection will not be random, and each team will have the opportunity to pick one enviro, either their favourite enviro, either the enviro on which they think they have the better chance against their weekly opponent. All in all, this will be more faire than when the map drawing made you play an opponent on 2 of their strongest enviros.
2) After the ranking groups, good teams will play each other until the end, while teams lacking power (people or motivation) will be put together in the lower group. All in all, this should allow teams to have maybe 3 weeks of ranking matches with some big wins and big losses, and then 6 weeks of close games with teams having the same power.
3) The best teams will all play each other on the seven enviros, which will give an even better ranking at the season end.

Cons of the new system
1) No big final
2) Ranking groups will be more brutal, and a bad day will likely mean you are out of the title chase.
3) Seven enviros games will need more scheduling from team captains.
